Erik Christiansen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Regional Health Research at the University of Southern Denmark. His academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in 'Risk factors for suicide attempts' (2015) and a cand.scient.oecon degree. He is affiliated with the IRS - Mental Health Services in the Region of Southern Denmark and the Research Unit of Mental Health Services in Aabenraa.
His research focuses on mental health epidemiology, suicide prevention strategies, and healthcare utilization patterns. Key topics include comorbidity in suicidal populations, adolescent self-harm risk factors, and the effectiveness of school-based interventions.
