Frederick R. Chen

Frederick R. Chen is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at The Ohio State University. His research examines interactions between economics and security in international relations, with emphasis on domestic political mechanisms. His work spans political economy, international security, and foreign policy analysis.

Research focuses on:

• Political economy of international security
• Domestic institutional influences on economic cooperation
• Public opinion in foreign policy

Publications appear in top journals including International Organization and World Politics. He received the David A. Lake Best Paper Award and Genevieve Gorst Herfurth Award for doctoral research.
