Franziska Dettner

Franziska Dettner, M.Eng., is a Researcher at the Department of Energy and Environmental Management, Interdisciplinary Institute for Environmental, Social and Human Sciences, Europa-Universität Flensburg. She contributes to projects involving energy modeling, social equity in energy systems, and cross-sectoral capacity development.

Her research spans open energy system modeling, quantification of shipping emission impacts, and development of climate-neutral propulsion concepts. She led the 'Renewable Energy in the Water Sector in Jordan' project and manages the EKSH-funded 'Climate-Neutral Shipping for Schleswig-Holstein' initiative.

In teaching, she led the 'Environmental Economics' lecture for international Master's students. Her work bridges energy systems analysis with socio-environmental policy evaluation, emphasizing just transitions and external cost modeling.
