- Bachelor of Arts in International Economics, University of Applied Sciences Bremen and Chulalongkorn University (2010-2014)
- Master of Science in Sustainability, Society and the Environment, Kiel University (2015-2019)
His research interests center on discursive negotiations of climate protection and sustainability, green governmentality, sufficiency policies, post-growth economics, and critical rural studies. He investigates how municipal policies can drive socio-ecological transformation, particularly in rural contexts, through sufficiency-oriented approaches that challenge conventional growth paradigms.
Hübler's recent publications explore the intersection of rural geography, post-growth, and climate protection. His work critically examines municipal sufficiency policies and their potential to catalyze socio-ecological transformation in rural areas. Themes include the challenges to 'normal' rural conditions from post-growth perspectives and the role of local climate action in fostering sustainable development beyond economic growth.
His scientific awards include:
- PhD scholarship from Gesellschaft für Energie und Klimaschutz Schleswig-Holstein (EKSH) (2019-2022)
As a doctoral candidate, Hübler has not been listed as an advisor for students. His primary grant support comes from the EKSH PhD scholarship that funded his doctoral research from 2019 to 2022.
Hübler is a founding member of Wurzel.Bildung, an association for applied sustainability education, and actively participates in the 'Social Geography of Coastal and Marine Areas' working group at Kiel University. His collaborative projects include the Social Innovation project group and prior work with the City of Kiel's Department for Climate Protection.
