Prof. Franziska Boehm is a Professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Center for Applied Legal Studies (ZAR), and Head of the Department of Intellectual Property Rights in Distributed Information Infrastructures (IGR) at FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure. She holds a PhD from the University of Luxembourg and has held academic positions including Junior Professor for IT Law at the University of Münster and post-doctoral roles at the University of Luxembourg.
- Education: Law studies across European University Viadrina, University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, and Justus Liebig University Giessen, culminating in a Magister Juris Internationalis (2007) and PhD (2011).
Her research focuses on IT law, data protection frameworks within the EU, and legal challenges in distributed information systems. As Head of IGR at FIZ Karlsruhe, she leads efforts in intellectual property rights within distributed infrastructures, bridging legal and technical domains. Her professional trajectory underscores expertise in transnational legal frameworks governing data sharing and digital innovation.
