Peter Frankopan is Professor of Global History at the University of Oxford and Professor of Silk Roads Studies at King’s College, Cambridge, where he serves as Associate Director of the Silk Roads Studies Programme. His interdisciplinary research bridges historical narratives with earth sciences and genetics, focusing on cross-cultural exchanges along the Silk Roads, climate change, and the interconnected histories of China, Central Asia, and the Byzantine Empire.
- Research Interests: Explores trade, language, and religious exchanges across Eurasia, with a focus on Byzantine historiography, Silk Roads dynamics, and environmental history. His work integrates genetic and ecological data to reinterpret historical narratives.
