Franklin Evans

Franklin Evans is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Art at The Cooper Union. Born in 1967 in Reno, Nevada, he resides and works in New York City. He holds a BA from Stanford University, an MA and MFA in Painting from the University of Iowa, and an MBA from Columbia University.

His research focuses on painting installations exploring the artist's studio as a subject. Notable exhibitions include solo shows at MoMA PS1, the Venice Biennale, and international venues such as the Mykonos Biennale and Museum Ivan Bruschi. Collaborations include projects with Trajal Harrell and Omar Lopez-Chahoud.

His work appears in major collections like the Yale University Art Gallery and the Orlando Museum of Art. Awards include the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and NYFA Fellowship in Painting. Evans is represented by galleries including Ameringer McEnery Yohe (NY), FL Gallery (Milan), and Steven Zevitas Gallery (Boston).
