Dr. Frank Worthington is a Senior Lecturer in Management and Programme Leader for the MSc Human Resource Management at the University of York's School for Business and Society. With 25 years of academic experience across leading UK universities, his work focuses on organizational behavior, human resource management, and qualitative research methodologies. He specializes in ethnographic studies examining clinical team dynamics in healthcare, performance management in higher education, and ethno-national conflict resolution strategies in Northern Ireland.
Frank has held leadership roles at Newcastle University Business School and The University of Liverpool Management School. He co-founded the Annual ULMS/Keele University International Symposium on Ethnographic Research and chairs the Journal of Organizational Ethnography. His research integrates labor process theory and critical management perspectives to analyze workplace practices and policy impacts on professional work.
Teaching interests include employment relations, human resource management in context, and contemporary management challenges. Professional service includes chairing the Board of Studies at the School for Business and Society.
