Dr. Francesco De Pascalis is a Senior Lecturer in Financial Law at Brunel Law School within the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences. He joined Brunel in 2017, bringing expertise from his prior role as a Research Fellow at the Chair for Law and Finance at the University of Zurich (2013-2017) and as an external lecturer at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London.

His research focuses on banking and finance law, financial regulation, digital finance, and sustainable finance. He authored the monograph Credit Ratings and Market Over-reliance: An International Legal Analysis (Brill-Nijhoff, 2017) and is co-authoring two forthcoming books: Open Banking: Global Development and Regulation (Routledge, 2023) and Principles of Law and Finance (Edward Elgar, 2026). His work has been published in journals like International and Comparative Corporate Law Journal, European Business Law Review, and Business Law Review.

He is a member of Brunel's Centre for AI: Social and Digital Innovation and Research Centre for Law, Economics and Finance, as well as Zurich's Research Network on Sustainable Finance.
