Dr Ka Kei Chan is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Finance, Brunel University London. He holds a PhD in Finance from Cass Business School (City University London) and BSc/MSc degrees in Money and Banking from National Chengchi University, Taiwan. His prior affiliations include Loughborough University, the University of Derby, and the University of Westminster.

His research focuses on banking models, Basel III regulation, credit derivatives, and systemic risk. Recent work examines systematic factors in corporate credit default swaps, macroprudential policy impacts in East Asia, and price convergence between derivatives instruments. He has published in journals like the Journal of Empirical Finance and International Review of Financial Analysis.
Notable collaborations include co-authorships with Prof Philip Davis, Mil-Tang Lin, and Andros Andriosopoulos. His teaching includes modules on macroeconomic principles and money & banking. Current research explores regulatory effectiveness, credit derivative strategies, and systemic risk in financial services.
