Francesca Fauri is an Associate Professor at the University of Bologna's Department of Economic Sciences, specializing in economic history with a focus on migration, European integration, and Italian economic development. She holds a PhD from the European University Institute and has held postdoctoral fellowships at the London School of Economics and the University of Bologna.
Her research interests include the economic history of migration, post-WWII Italian economy, and the history of the Italian aeronautical industry. She has published extensively in English and Italian, including four volumes on migration and a recent book on the Italian aeronautical sector.
Recent research projects include the Jean Monnet Chair-funded study on EU migration challenges, Emilia-Romagna emigrant entrepreneurship, and the history of Forlì's aeronautical hub. Her awards include multiple EU grants and foundation-funded projects.
Teaching roles include courses on European economic history in Forlì and Bologna. She serves on institutional committees, including the Sapienza University of Rome’s European Studies PhD program. Her work bridges historical analysis with contemporary policy, emphasizing migration’s economic and social dimensions.
