Frances Lilleystone is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Winchester since 2020, following roles as a Research Fellow and part-time lecturer at the University of Portsmouth. She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Birmingham, an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology, and a PhD from the University of Reading, focusing on emotion regulation in young children and parenting behavior. Her research spans developmental and educational psychology, emphasizing socio-emotional development, childhood anxiety, attachment, creativity, and interventions based on implicit theories of intelligence (Mindsets). She has led projects like the Changing Mindsets 2 initiative (funded by the Educational Endowment Foundation) to address educational attainment gaps. She secured a £20,500 grant in 2019 for evaluating a community program supporting vulnerable youth. Her work combines applied educational research with theoretical contributions to child development.
