Katy Soar is a Senior Lecturer in Classical Archaeology at the University of Winchester's School of Humanities. She holds a BA from the University of Birmingham and MA/PhD from the University of Nottingham. Prior to her current role, she held positions at the University of Sheffield, Open University, and Royal Holloway, University of London. Her research focuses on Minoan and Mycenaean archaeology, the history of archaeology, and intersections with folklore and popular culture.

Recent publications include Circles of Stone (2023) and co-edited volumes on comics and archaeology (2022). She has received grants from the University of Winchester and the Institute of Classical Studies.
