معرفی
Dr. Frances Corrigan is an Associate Professor in the Discipline of Anatomy and Pathology at the University of Adelaide's School of Biomedicine. She leads the Head Injury Group, collaborating with the Translational Neuropathology lab and CANDL. Her research focuses on traumatic brain injury (TBI), exploring mechanisms linking TBI to neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, and developing pharmacological interventions. Key projects include mapping tau protein spread post-TBI, understanding axonal injury timelines, age-related TBI outcomes, and improving preclinical TBI models. She is eligible to supervise masters and PhD students.
Education: PhD in neuroprotective agents for TBI (2011), followed by postdoctoral training in psychiatric disorder models.
Research Interests:
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Neuroinflammation and Neurodegeneration
- Pharmacological Intervention Development
- TBI Biomarkers and Mechanisms
Article Trends: Recent work emphasizes TBI's long-term effects, neuroinflammation's role, and translational models like ferrets and sheep. Themes include substance P modulation, Fyn kinase inhibition, and biomarker discovery.
Labs/Teams: Head Injury Group, Translational Neuropathology lab, and CANDL collaborations.
