Florian Grandena is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Ottawa, specializing in French and Quebec cinema, queer theory, and gender studies. His research focuses on queer-themed cinema, representations of homosexuality in French cinema (particularly the works of Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau), the monster figure in films by Julia Ducournau, queer temporality, memory studies, and research creation. He co-directs the Aesthetics and Politics of the Image of Cinema (EPIC) research group with Karine Bertrand.
