Fiore Geelhoed

Fiore Geelhoed is an Assistant Professor at Erasmus School of Law, Criminology, Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research explores extremism, radicalization, and activism, with a focus on subjective experiences within movements labeled as radical or extremist. She also investigates compliance motivations in environmental criminology and conspiracy theory communities.

Her primary research interests include understanding narratives and subcultures in extremist movements, conversion processes within Islam, and the societal impacts of polarization. She employs qualitative methodologies to examine how individuals perceive their involvement in contested social movements.

Geelhoed actively contributes to public policy as a member of Amsterdam's Expert Group on Radicalization and Extremism. Her work has been featured in media discussions on conspiracy theories and deradicalization.
