Dr Fiona Murray is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen's School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition. She holds a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Glasgow and a BSc from the University of Aberdeen. Her research focuses on cAMP signaling in diseases like pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and lymphomas, with a particular interest in G protein-coupled receptors (e.g., GPR75) and PDE1 inhibitors as therapeutic targets. She has been awarded grants from organizations like Tenovus Scotland and the Wellcome Trust, and her work has led to two U.S. patents. Dr Murray is an active mentor and serves on committees such as the Athena SWAN and Senate. She teaches courses in cardiovascular physiology, molecular pharmacology, and biomedical sciences. Her outreach efforts include science education initiatives for schools and community engagement through events like Physiology Friday.
