Fiona Leonard

Fiona Leonard is a Principal Lecturer in Science Education at the Department of Teacher Education, Sheffield Hallam University. She has held roles including Phase Leader for Secondary Teacher Education since 2012, overseeing secondary age phase programmes and staff deployment. Previously, she served as Subject Group Leader and Course Leader for the Secondary Science PGCE courses. Her career includes 20 years in secondary education across schools in South London and South Yorkshire.

Her work focuses on strengthening school partnerships, enhancing student placements, and revising teacher education course structures to improve outcomes. She is pursuing a MA in Education and actively contributes to professional networks like the ASE (Association for Science Education) and YITTS (Yorkshire and Humberside Initial Teacher Educators).
