Dr Fiona Jamieson is a Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Edinburgh's School of Law, specializing in sentencing practices, judicial culture, and criminal justice policy. She holds a PhD in Criminology (Edinburgh University), an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice, an LLB (Hons), and a Diploma in Legal Practice. Prior to academia, she practiced as a prosecutor in Scotland. Her research explores penal decision-making, judicial independence, and the intersection of alcohol policy with crime. She serves on the Sentencing and Penal Decision-Making Working Group (European Society of Criminology), the MESAS Governance Board (Scottish Government/NHS), and the Evaluation Advisory Group for Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) impacts on crime.
