Dr. Fiona Blaikie is a Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at Brock University's Faculty of Education, with prior roles as Dean of Education and Director of the Joint PhD in Educational Studies. Her research focuses on visual arts education, posthumanism, and feminist ontologies. She co-chairs the Arts Education Research Institute (AERI) and is Associate Director of the Posthumanism Research Institute at Brock.
Her academic journey includes leadership roles at Lakehead University and international collaborations. Blaikie has authored/co-edited works such as Visual and Cultural Identity Constructs of Global Youth and Young Adults (2021). She actively contributes to professional organizations like the National Art Education Association and InSEA.
Her recent scholarship emphasizes embodied knowledge, intersectionality, and global curricula comparisons. Key awards include the USSEA/InSEA Ziegfeld Award. Blaikie teaches advanced courses on art education research methodologies, curriculum inquiry, and pedagogical praxis.
