Professor Fiona Beveridge serves as Executive Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences at the University of Liverpool, having previously served as Dean of the School of Law and Social Justice from 2010 to 2014. She joined the university in 1992 as a Lecturer in Law and was promoted to Professor in 2007, following departmental leadership from 2008-2010.
Her research specializes in international and EU legal frameworks, with concentrated expertise in foreign investment law and gender equality policy implementation. She examines gender mainstreaming mechanisms across international institutions, the EU, and national governments, notably contributing to the European Parliament's 2015-2020 Gender Equality Strategy through analysis of gender budgeting as an equality advancement tool.
Professor Beveridge chairs the University's Race Equality Charter Self-Assessment Team while maintaining external governance roles as Non-Executive Director at Alder Hey Children's Hospital Trust and Chair of the University of Liverpool Press Board, demonstrating institutional leadership beyond academic scholarship.
