Professor Kerry Howell holds the Chair of Governance in the Faculty of Business and Law at Northumbria University. Previously serving as Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor, his research expertise spans governance, leadership, EU policy, and methodology. He has authored texts with major publishers like Palgrave McMillan and Cambridge Scholars, and edited works on corporate governance and leadership culture. His teaching spans research philosophy, governance ethics, and methodology, with over thirty supervised research completions.
Education: PhD in Government and Public Policy (1998), BSc (Hons) Politics. Professional roles include Chair of the Public Administration Committee (PAC), member of Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS), and leadership in research submissions for RAE2008 and REF2013/2021.
Research focuses on governance frameworks, service failure recovery in digital contexts, and cultural perspectives in institutional settings. Recent work examines chatbots' impact on customer experience, millennials' social media behavior, and user-generated content dynamics. His interdisciplinary approach bridges public policy, business management, and qualitative methodologies.
