Filippo Ippolito is an Associate Professor of Finance at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona and is affiliated with the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE). He holds a PhD in Finance from Saïd Business School, Oxford University, and has over two decades of experience in academic research and teaching. He serves as Director of the Master in Financial Economics and the Summer School in Finance at BSE, and previously held positions at Bocconi University in Milan.
His research centers on corporate finance, with a focus on corporate policies, capital structure, liquidity management, private equity, and financial frictions. He investigates how informational and contractual frictions affect investment decisions, payout policy, and corporate financing. His work often explores the role of banks and financial intermediaries in providing liquidity insurance and managing risk.
