Dr. Fredricson Flodin's research explores how the body finds its place in teaching and the bodily situatedness of practical knowledge. She integrates aesthetic learning processes across teacher education programs to develop students' professional capabilities, emphasizing embodiment, improvisation, and intercultural dynamics in educational settings. Her work bridges dance pedagogy, phenomenological inquiry, and teacher training methodologies.
Her publications demonstrate consistent focus on embodied cognition in education, with recent book chapters analyzing improvisation's role in aesthetic learning (2014) and intercultural applications (2020). These works connect dance education, teacher development, and cultural diversity through frameworks of practical knowledge.
With 15 years as a professional dancer and prior experience as artistic lecturer at the Academy of Dance and Circus (including management roles), she brings practical expertise to her academic work. She actively collaborates with municipalities and schools to enhance teacher education through real-world applications, particularly in after-school center contexts.
