Feng Lin, PhD is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine at Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine. He is also a Member of the Molecular Oncology Program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. His research focuses on the complement system's role in innate immunity and its implications in autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and age-related macular degeneration, as well as allograft rejection. Lin's laboratory employs genetically engineered mice to study complement activation and regulation, aiming to develop novel therapies. Recent work highlights the therapeutic potential of targeting complement pathways in mesenchymal stem cell-based treatments for inflammatory and degenerative diseases.
- Key Research Areas: Complement system regulation, immunological pathways, stem cell viability enhancement
- Laboratory: Lin Laboratory (focused on translational immunology research)
