Dr. Yee Ling Wu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Loyola University Chicago's Stritch School of Medicine. She holds a Ph.D. from Ohio State University and leads research on immune regulation of antibody generation and genetic diversity in innate immunity. Her laboratory investigates molecular mechanisms underlying antibody function in allergy/asthma and autoimmune diseases using both animal models and human samples.
Her research focuses on immunoglobulin biology, particularly IgE class switching pathways and functional differences between IgE isoforms in pathological responses. A second major focus examines how complement gene copy number variations (C4A/C4B) influence innate immunity diversity and predispose to systemic autoimmune disorders like lupus. Current projects include deciphering links between innate immune diversity and adaptive immunity in autoimmune pathogenesis.
Dr. Wu's publication record demonstrates consistent focus on complement system genetics and B cell immunology, with recent work emphasizing clinical correlations of complement deficiencies in autoimmune disorders. Her research employs advanced genomic techniques to establish genotype-phenotype relationships in lupus, myositis, and other immune-mediated conditions.
