Dr. Felix Jacques (1924–2001) was a dedicated biology professor at St. Bonaventure University, joining the faculty in 1963. He held academic roles including chairman of the Health Professions Evaluation Committee and chair of the Faculty Senate Study Committee (1968). His research focused on blood chemistry in hibernating animals, supported by a $40,000 NIH grant in 1965. He was a member of AIBS, AAAS, the American Physiological Society, and the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions.
Education: B.A. (1950) and M.S. in Zoology (1953) from the University of Iowa; Ph.D. in Biology and Physiology (1960) from St. Louis University. Prior to St. Bonaventure, he taught at Langston University, Southern Illinois University, and Webster College. He served as the university’s chief health advisor from 1977 until his death. His legacy includes contributions to academic governance and physiology research.
