Fei Guo is a Professor in the Department of Management at Macquarie University, specializing in migration studies, demography, and public health. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii (1996) and an Andrew W. Mellon Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Australian National University. Her research focuses on migration and labor markets, mortality patterns, health equity, ethnic diversity, and diaspora dynamics. She has led major projects funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and the Ford Foundation, producing over 75 peer-reviewed articles and six co-authored books.
Key research initiatives include studies on rural migrant labor in China, multicultural affinities in Australia, and transnationalism. She co-edited influential volumes such as Return Migration in the Asia Pacific and Handbook of Chinese Migration, Identity and Wellbeing. Her recent work examines the impact of the pandemic on global life expectancy and migrant health disparities. Professor Guo also serves on the Australian Research Council College of Experts and previously edited the International Migration Review.
