Prof Xin Meng is a Professor of Economics at the Australian National University's Research School of Economics, part of the College of Business and Economics. She is a member of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences and leads research on China's labor markets, gender discrimination, rural-urban migration, and economic impacts of historical catastrophes. Her work includes the Rural-Urban Migration in China (RUMiC) project, a decade-long panel survey of migrants from 2008–2016.
