Federico Navarro is a Full Professor at the University of O'Higgins, Chile, and Director of the School of Education. He holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Valladolid, Spain, and a BA in Literature from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. His academic roles include being a Visiting Scholar at Heidelberg University's HCIAS (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation), and a Research Associate at the University of Chile's Center for Advanced Research in Education.

- Research Focus: Academic writing, discourse analysis, educational linguistics, and reading strategies in secondary/higher education
He has led/co-led 15 funded research projects and authored over 150 publications. His current research explores academic performance and writing skills in German/Chilean students, and the role of writing in disciplinary learning. He founded the Latin American Association for Writing Studies (ALES) and edited key works like Escritura e inclusión en la universidad.
Notable projects include studies on: 1) reading motivation's impact on academic performance, 2) comparative analysis of written discourse in engineering/humanities, and 3) curriculum integration of literacy skills. He collaborates with institutions across Argentina, Chile, Spain, and Germany.
