Professor Federica De Iuliis serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Law, Political and International Studies at the University of Parma, holding National Scientific Qualification for Associate Professor (SSD IUS/18) with unanimous commission approval. Her expertise centers on Roman Law and Ancient Law within the Foundations of European Law framework.
She earned her cum laude Law degree from the University of Bologna and completed her PhD in Roman Law and Comparative Method at the University of Ferrara.
Her research examines historical evolution of Roman legal concepts, with particular focus on gender dimensions in ancient jurisprudence and intersections between Roman law and early Christian legislation. Current investigations explore cardinal virtues in Roman legal philosophy and honor-related offenses against women.
Recent publications (2024-2025) reveal thematic continuity in analyzing Roman legal institutions through socio-cultural lenses, especially regarding virtue ethics, women's legal status, and ecclesiastical influences during the late Empire period.
Professor De Iuliis maintains active teaching roles across multiple institutions, currently delivering Roman Law and Institutions of Roman Law courses for the 5-year Law degree program at Parma. She previously coordinated the Master's program in Cultural Tourism of Territories and has lectured for doctoral programs at Ferrara, Modena-Reggio Emilia, and Parma universities. Her research has been supported by grants from both the University of Parma and University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
