Valeria Paganizza

Valeria Paganizza is an Associate Professor of Agricultural and Food Law (GIUR-03/B) at the University of Parma, Department of Law, Political and International Studies since October 1, 2024. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Legal Sciences cum laude from the University of Ferrara (2005) and a Doctorate in European Union Law (2013) on the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).

• Past Roles: Research Fellow at University of Eastern Piedmont (2014-2015), University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (2016-2017, 2019-2020), and Type A Researcher at University of Padua (2021-2024).
• Teaching: Courses in Food Law and EU Agricultural Policy at Modena and Reggio Emilia, Padua, Bologna Business School, Wittenborg University (Netherlands), Wageningen University (Netherlands), and Monash University (Australia).

Her research focuses on food law, innovation, and sustainability, particularly regulatory frameworks for novel foods, biocontrol agents, and botanicals. She authored two monographs and contributed to multiple editions of the Compendium of Food Law. Current projects include the PRIN PNRR 2022 BEETROOT initiative on regulatory frameworks for healing plants and the Agritech project on biocontrol regulation. She supervises courses via office hours available Monday-Friday (in-person or Teams) and collaborates internationally through the Erasmus+ KA171 program.
