Fay Carathanassis is a researcher at the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt), focusing on challenges in regulating digital communication platforms. She is also a research assistant at the Chair of Law and Security of Digitalization at the Technical University of Munich, where she is pursuing her doctorate in media law. Her work intersects legal frameworks for digital violence, disinformation, and social media regulation.
She studied law at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, specializing in competition law, intellectual property, and media law, and completed her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Munich, including stints at a media law firm and a US media company.
