Dr. Fatih Beren is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society at George Mason University. He holds a Master’s in Political Science from Ankara University (2003) and a PhD in Security Strategies from the Turkish National Police Academy (2010), where he also earned Associate Professorship in 2014. Previously, he served in intelligence, counter-terrorism, and training units of the Turkish National Police for 18 years. His research focuses on counter-terrorism, intelligence ethics, and democratic policing. He has authored four books: *Police Ethics*, *Police and Intelligence Ethics*, *Homeland Security Intelligence*, and *Democratic Policing*. He has been a visiting scholar at American University’s School of Public Affairs and the University of Cincinnati’s School of Criminal Justice.
