Fatemeh Ajalloueian is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Technology at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), specializing in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Her research integrates biomaterials, nanotechnology, and microscale fabrication techniques to develop 3D tissue constructs for biomedical applications. She holds a Ph.D. in Textile Chemistry & Fiber Science from Isfahan University of Technology (2008–2014), with prior academic positions including a Researcher role at Karolinska Institutet (2012–2014) and a Visiting PhD student at Uppsala University’s Department of Chemistry (2011–2012).
Her expertise spans polymeric fibers, electrospun scaffolds, and nanodelivery systems, supported by grants from the Danish Council for Independent Research (DFF) and the Sapere Aude Research Talent program. Key projects include collaborations with Karolinska Institutet and Uppsala University to advance urinary bladder tissue engineering. She supervises multiple PhD students in areas like smart drug delivery, biocompatible supercapacitors, and 3D bio-printing for surgical applications.
Research interests emphasize sustainable biomedical solutions aligned with UN SDGs, focusing on tissue regeneration, biomaterials innovation, and advanced drug delivery systems. Notable contributions include work on layered autologous tissue grafts and monodisperse nanofibrous microparticles for oral drug delivery.
