معرفی
Prof. Zeeshan Ahmad is a Professor in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery at De Montfort University (DMU), leading the EPSRC EHDA Network. He holds the Royal Society Industry Fellowship and has a background in interdisciplinary research spanning chemistry, biology, physics, and biomedical engineering. His work focuses on drug delivery systems (nanoparticles, microparticles, fibrous materials), tissue engineering, medical device coatings, and biomaterial synthesis.
Education: PhD in Biomedical Materials from Queen Mary University of London. Professional memberships include the American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry, and Controlled Release Society.
Research Interests: Pharmaceutical technologies, nanoparticles, biomaterials, drug delivery engineering (EHDA, microfluidics), and material analysis (SEM, TEM, AFM). He has published extensively and served as a peer reviewer for major journals. His research emphasizes biomedical applications like anti-cancer drug delivery, bio-inspired particle generation, and 3D-printed drug matrices.
Grants & Awards: EPSRC, Royal Society, and industry-funded projects. Notable outputs include work on porous silica nanoparticles' toxicity and 3D-printed aligned drug matrices. Supervised numerous PhD students and undergraduate projects in pharmacy and biomaterials.
Labs/Teams: Leads DMU's Leicester School of Pharmacy research groups in drug delivery and EHDA technologies. Collaborates with industry and academia via the EHDA Network.
