Farrah Kheradmand, M.D., is a Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, holding the Nancy Chang, Ph.D. Endowed Professorship for the Biology of Inflammation. She serves as a Staff Physician in Pulmonary and Critical Care at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Houston. She is a member of the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center and a Core Faculty member at the Center for Translational Research on Inflammatory Diseases (CTRID).
Her education includes an M.D. from George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences and advanced training in medicine at Stanford University, University of California, San Francisco, and the University of Minnesota Affiliate Hospitals.
Research interests focus on immune mechanisms in lung diseases, matrix metalloproteinases, and cytokine function. Her work bridges basic science and clinical applications, particularly in inflammatory and pulmonary disorders.
Key grants include funding from NHLBI for studies on Th1/Th17 mediators in emphysema, COPD immune responses, and fungal pathogenesis in asthma. Additional grants come from the VA, Department of Defense, and NIAID, supporting investigations into deployment-related particulate matter effects and respiratory immune memory.
Dr. Kheradmand leads research teams at CTRID and collaborates with the Duncan Cancer Center, advancing translational studies in inflammation and disease.
