Dr. Fabian Braesemann is a Departmental Research Lecturer in AI & Work at the Oxford Internet Institute (OII), University of Oxford. He holds a doctoral degree from Vienna University of Economics and Business (2016). His research focuses on the Science of Success, leveraging data science to analyze determinants of success in business, work, and urban contexts. Key projects include understanding remote work polarization, startup founder personalities, and digital economy transformations. He teaches Social Network Analysis and Statistics at the OII and supervises master’s students in social data science.
His career includes roles as a Research Fellow at Saïd Business School and Data Scientist at the OII, working on labor markets and rural online economies. He co-founded DWG Datenwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft Berlin, a startup applying data science for evidence-based policymaking. Notable publications address founder personality impacts, global remote work trends, and pandemic-related risk indices.
Research interests span complex systems, network science, and future-of-work dynamics. He actively engages with policymakers and industry through keynote talks and media appearances, emphasizing empirical approaches to societal challenges.
