FJJ (Frans) Hermans

Frans Hermans is a Researcher and English teacher trainer at the Teacher Training College Sittard (FLOS) of Fontys University of Applied Sciences, where he contributes to the Integrative Education & Boundary Crossing research group.

His research spans Teacher Education, English Language Teaching, Pronunciation Didactics, Curriculum Development, and Educational Research, with a focus on sustainable changes in teacher behavior. In 2018, he completed his doctoral dissertation titled "From defining the educational challenge to sustainable changes in teacher behavior: Professionalizing teachers of English in the Netherlands in the field of teaching English pronunciation." Hermans actively supervises bachelor's and master's student research projects while leading curriculum development and research-skills training for FLOS students and instructors.

His work emphasizes boundary-crossing approaches to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical classroom application, fostering innovation in teacher training through the research group's initiatives in integrative education.
