Evan T. Keller

Evan T. Keller, DVM, PhD is a tenured Professor in the Department of Urology and Pathology at the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He serves as Director of the Single Cell Spatial Analysis Program, Associate Director for Shared Resources at the Rogel Cancer Center, and Co-Director of the Single Cell Analysis Shared Resource. Dr. Keller holds dual appointments in Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics and Biointerfaces Institute, with additional roles in the Biosciences Initiative and Caswell Diabetes Institute.

A graduate of the University of California, Davis (DVM, MPVM) and University of Wisconsin-Madison (PhD in Developmental Biology), Dr. Keller's career spans translational cancer research and technical innovation. His team pioneered clinical applications of RANKL inhibitors (Denosumab) for prostate cancer bone metastasis and identified RKIP as a metastasis suppressor gene. Current research focuses on single cell multiomics, spatial analysis, and precision medicine for genitourinary cancers.

The Keller Lab employs molecular, cellular, and transgenic animal models to investigate metastatic gene regulation, host-tumor interactions, and chemoresistance mechanisms. Their work bridges computational medicine and digital health innovation through advanced technologies. The lab team includes PhD researchers, veterinary specialists, and predoctoral trainees working on projects ranging from spatial transcriptomics to macrophage-driven tumor biology.

Dr. Keller's leadership in NIH-funded Program Project grants has advanced understanding of Wnt signaling, interleukin-6 pathways, and bone-tumor microenvironment dynamics. He actively develops 3D in vitro models and fluidic systems for metastasis research, while maintaining clinical relevance through translational studies.
