Dr. Eva Pocher is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Aberdeen Business School, where she teaches courses such as Labour Market Economics, Global Economy, and Health Economics. She joined the university in 2022 after serving as a Lecturer at the University of Glasgow from 2016 to 2021. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Aberdeen and has research experience at Edinburgh Napier University and Cardiff University. She holds multiple leadership roles including Senior Personal Tutor, UG Economics Studies Convenor for Joint Honours, Go Abroad Tutor, and Education Lead for the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Committee.

Her research focuses on Labour Economics, particularly international labour migration, gender pay gaps, minimum wages, and occupational segregation. She employs econometric methods such as unconditional quantile regression and spatial analysis to study regional labour market outcomes. Her work bridges empirical analysis with policy implications, especially in the UK and EU contexts.
Her recent publications (2021–2024) emphasize innovative teaching methodologies, including task-based team learning and student-centred approaches in interdisciplinary courses. Earlier works (2011–2019) focus on migration impacts and gender disparities in wages and employment, with several working papers and commissioned reports produced during her time at Glasgow and Cardiff. She has also contributed to research on developmentalism in Brazil and governance in Scottish boards.
