Christine Braun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2018) and a BS in Mathematics/Applied Science (Actuarial Science) from UCLA (2012). Her research focuses on macroeconomic and labour market dynamics, including topics such as labour productivity measurement, job seeker demographics, migration patterns of married couples, and the interplay between minimum wage policies and crime rates.
She has held visiting appointments at University College London (2025) and the European University Institute (2018-2019). Her work has been published in journals like Review of Economic Dynamics and Labour Economics, with recent contributions examining the productivity of remote work and gender wage gap mechanisms. She teaches advanced PhD courses on macroeconomics and labour economics at Warwick, covering topics such as frictional labour markets, wage distribution, and directed search models.
Her current research explores labour market beliefs' impact on gender wage disparities and the evolving productivity of working from home. Braun’s methodologies combine theoretical models with empirical data analysis, addressing critical questions about labour force participation, job search dynamics, and policy impacts.
