Dr. Eva-Maria Düringer is a researcher at the Philosophical Seminar of the University of Tübingen, specializing in Moral Philosophy, Philosophy of Mind, and Aesthetics. Since 2010, she has held academic positions at the university, including her current role as a research assistant for philosophy didactics since October 2024. Her work explores the intersection of emotions, values, and virtue ethics.

Her research focuses on suffering and its role in virtue ethics, particularly through her DFG-funded project "Das natürlich Schlechte: Zum Wesen des Leids und seiner Rolle in der gegenwärtigen Tugendethik" (2019-present). She has published on topics including emotion evaluation, Kantian ethics, and the relationship between bodily changes and value representation.
Recent publications include analyses of empathy (2012), theological knowledge (2014), and fiction-desire relationships (2018). Her 2014 book Evaluating Emotions contributes to interdisciplinary discussions on emotion theory.
