Ina Goy

Prof. Dr. Ina Goy is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany. She holds a Magistra Artium (2002), PhD (2006, summa cum laude), and Habilitation (2015) from Tuebingen. Her research focuses on Aristotle, Kant, and the history of philosophy of biology, with monographs including Kant's Theory of Biology (2017) and an upcoming work on Aristotle's theories of reproduction. She has held visiting positions at institutions such as Stanford University and the University of Chicago, and has received grants from the German Research Foundation and Fritz Thyssen Foundation.

Her research interests span ancient and modern philosophy, teleology, moral psychology, environmental ethics, and the philosophy of religion. She has organized international symposia on Kant's biology and Aristotle's Generation of Animals, and collaborates on commentary projects like Aristotle. Generation of Animals: A Commentary. Her interdisciplinary work bridges philosophy with the history of science, particularly in examining epigenesis and preformation debates.

Teaching includes courses on Aristotle, Kant, ancient Greek philosophy, and the presocratics, with international teaching stints in Montréal and Beijing. She has delivered invited lectures worldwide on topics ranging from Kant's ethics to Goethe's plant theory, and actively participates in academic networks such as the Kant's Doctrine of Virtue project.
