Arne Holger Moritz is a Professor for Ethics in School and Society at the University of Vienna, affiliated with the Institute of Philosophy and Center for Teacher Education. He joined Vienna in March 2024 after a long tenure at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, where he worked as a Lehrkraft für besondere Aufgaben until 2012.

- Promotion (2006) in Philosophy from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg
Research Interests span multiple areas:

- Medieval Philosophy: Historical foundations of pedagogy

- Hermeneutics: Interpretation in educational contexts

Recent Publications focus on interdisciplinary ethics teaching, phenomenological approaches, and child-centered philosophical methods, primarily in 2023-2025. Themes include Husserl’s legacy, virtue epistemology in Czech education, and religion’s role in secular ethics classrooms.
