Eugenio Vaccari is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Royal Holloway, University of London, and serves as UG Programme Lead for 'Law with' programmes. He holds degrees from institutions including the London School of Economics and City University London. His research focuses on sustainable restructuring practices, climate change impacts on insolvency, and AI-driven legal tools for small businesses. He is an Academic Fellow of the Middle Temple and a World Bank consultant.
Education includes a PhD from City University London (2018), an LLM from LSE (2014), and earlier degrees from Italian universities. He previously lectured at the University of Essex and acts as an external examiner for King's College London and Goldsmiths.
Research interests span insolvency law, public entity financial distress, AI applications, and marginalized communities' access to bankruptcy relief. He co-authored books such as Municipalities in Financial Distress (2025) and English Corporate Insolvency Law: A Primer (2022).
Recent articles emphasize AI tools for legal advice and climate-resilient insolvency frameworks. Awards include the 2022 Silver Prize in International Insolvency Studies and a teaching commendation (2022).
Eugenio chairs INSOL International's NextGen Executive Committee and co-leads the Emerging Scholars Group. He also contributes to editorial roles for INSOL i-Read and peer-reviewed journals.
