Dr. Esther Muddiman is a Lecturer in Sociology of Education at Cardiff University's School of Social Sciences. Her research focuses on youth activism, intergenerational justice, decolonial practices, and civic engagement. She co-founded the Youth Activism Project, investigating children and young people's involvement in environmental and school-based protests. Muddiman is also a member of the GW4 Climate Justice Education Research Network and the Decolonial Critique Network. Her work examines how historical gendered, classed, and racial dynamics shape contemporary educational spaces, advocating for inclusive practices in higher education. She holds a PhD in Sociology and has contributed to projects on children's rights and civic responsibility through organizations like WISERD.
