Professor Chris Taylor is a leading academic in Social Sciences at Cardiff University, serving as Academic Director of the SPARK Research Park and former Co-Director of WISERD. His expertise spans education policy, civil society dynamics, and social inequality. He has led major evaluations of Welsh educational reforms, including the Foundation Phase and Welsh Baccalaureate, while contributing to international studies like PISA 2021. His research focuses on school exclusions, intergenerational civic engagement, and the role of family in shaping societal participation. Taylor chairs the UCL Centre for Longitudinal Studies’ Strategic Advisory Board and sits on HEFCW committees.
