Esther Lynch

Esther Lynch is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Law at Maynooth University, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. She holds significant roles in European trade union advocacy, including serving as ETUC Confederal Secretary since 2015. Her expertise spans labor law, collective bargaining, wage policy, and occupational health and safety.

With over three decades of trade union experience, Lynch has shaped strategies at national and international levels. She leads ETUC initiatives on the European Pillar of Social Rights, undeclared work, and the ILO Future of Work. She oversees key committees like the Legal Strategy Group and NETLEX, driving campaigns such as the successful workplace cancers initiative and a current push for European-wide pay rises.

Lynch’s work integrates legal advocacy with policy reform, emphasizing worker rights, public procurement standards, and transnational labor solidarity.
