Zivko Mitrevski

Professor Zivko Mitrevski serves at the International Slavic University "G. R. Derzhavin" within the Faculty of Legal Sciences since 2016, teaching Labor Law, Social Law, Inheritance Law, Contract Law, and Workplace Safety Law across Sveti Nikole and Bitola campuses. He concurrently holds leadership positions as President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia and President of the Trade Union of Workers in Forestry, Wood Industry, and Energy of the Republic of Macedonia.

His academic foundation includes a PhD in Legal Sciences from University "St. Cyril and Methodius" – Skopje (2012), a Master's in Human Resources Management (2004), and a Law degree from University "St. Kliment Ohridski" – Bitola. Earlier career phases included Assistant roles at Bitola's Faculty of Law during 1986-1987.

Research focuses on labor legislation frameworks, social dialogue mechanisms, and workers' rights enforcement, demonstrated through extensive conference participation addressing collective bargaining evolution, informal economy formalization, and occupational safety standards across Southeast Europe. His work bridges academic theory with trade union practice, emphasizing tripartite negotiation systems and EU integration impacts on Macedonian labor policy.

Professional engagements span 30+ international forums including ILO conferences, PERC summer schools, and ETUC events from 2013-2022, with recurring themes in wage policy supervision, youth unemployment solutions, and legal protections for temporary workers. Notable contributions include Regional Round Tables on Social Dialogue (Zagreb 2013, Sofia 2014) and International Dialogue EAST-WEST series on labor legislation modernization (2019-2022).

As a trade union leader, he shapes national labor policies while advising on EU accession reforms. Current initiatives focus on green economy transitions through the "Go GREEN, stay CLEAN!" project and strengthening social dialogue frameworks per ILO Convention 144 ratification requirements.
